We redesigned an abandoned Socialist Era monument with unique character and ample interior space is to provide a whole new set of functions for the city of Varna. With its ample interior space, the building offers an unique opportunity to be home to galleries, conference rooms, a research center, bookstore, cafe and an observation deck. While providing an immersive experience for its visitors, the exhibitions are intended to showcase the historic period responsible for the creation of the structure and provide a commentary on the political and social forces shaping people's lives.
The building/monument is located on one the highest hills in the city of Varna and besides the spectacular views, it boasts a large park which according to our proposal is to be turned into a welcoming garden and a destination for the city dwellers.
Bringing a new live to the structure, the project reinvents its purpose and gives it back to the people in service of their contemporary needs.
